8 Qualities Mumpreneurs Could Learn From Lleyton Hewitt

Dee Britton

Did you see Leyton Hewitt’s tennis match at the Australian Open against Novak Djokovic on Monday night?

It was absolutely sensational!

Lleyton Hewitt is a real Aussie icon so it is fitting that I write about him on Australia Day.

As busy mumpreneurs we can learn a lot from Lleyton and how he plays his tennis.

8 Qualities Mumpreneurs Could Learn From Lleyton Hewitt

  1. Never Give Up – Lleyton has a ‘never say die’ attitude. No matter what the score is in his tennis game he always givesĀ  it his all. No matter what is going on in your life or your business it is just an obstacle and you must push through keeping your eye on the finish line.
  2. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone – Lleyton pushes through pain and other barriers to make the most of the situation. Staying comfortable gets you nowhere. Do things that scare you a little and take some risks. You never know what will happen if you don’t try.
  3. Be Authentic – Some people have criticized Lleyton over the years for being a bit of a spoiled brat. I personally believe that he is very authentic. You have to be who you really are to be totally true to yourself. Remove any masks you have been wearing.
  4. Live With No Regrets – Lleyton will never die wondering. He has played in the Australian Open tennis tournament 16 years straight. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. What are you not doing that you really want to achieve?
  5. Learn From Mentors – Lleyton has worked very hard throughout his tennis career but one of the other reasons for his success is he has watched and learned from those players who were better than him. Who are you learning from who has already achieved what you want to achieve?
  6. Work On The Mind – Lleyton understands that success mainly comes from the mind and your thoughts. Even when Lleyton was world number 1 he would watch DVD’s of the ‘Rocky’ series to fire himself up. Your mind is your greatest asset. You need to be doing some sort of mind work everyday in order to grow as a person and grow your business.
  7. Seek Opportunities – Lleyton understands that his tennis career will not last forever and is currently pursuing other income opportunites setting himself and his family up for the future. Have you got all your eggs in one basket or does your financial future look quite secure?
  8. Give Back To The Community – Lleyton volunteers and donates regularly to charities and events. He knows the benefits of giving back to the community. What are you doing to ensure you are giving back to the community?

The most important thing that Lleyton does that you need to do is to get a coach to help you improve what ever aspect of your life is not working as good as it could be. All successful sports people, successful business people, successful celebrities understand that in order to be the best they need to aquire the assistance of a coach.

What area of your life do you think you need a coach?

Do you possess all the qualities that make Lleyton successful?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment box below.
